Shakespeare Country is the trading name of South Warwickshire Tourism Ltd.  This is a public, private partnership delivering the services that used to be associated with locally run 'Tourist Boards'.

 

Shakespeare Country is part funded by two local councils; Stratford District and Warwick District and a number of key partners: Warwick Castle; Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Company.  In addition to these there are over 2500 members covering all the local tourist attractions, hotels, accommodation providers.

  

The Open Road joined Shakespeare Country in 1998 just after we setup in business and have been very active Members ever since.  Tony Merrygold is the Chairman of SWATA (South Warwickshire Association of Tourist Attractions) which meets four times a year and works to promote tourist attractions in the area.  This role gives Tony a seat on the Board of Shakespeare Country or which Tony is also Vice Chair.
