Diary of Classic Car Events Around Warwickshire, the Cotswolds and the West Midlands

The HRCR are again running their much loved Open Day at The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon. It will be the gathering point for all those interested in historic rallying which is the fastest growing motor sport in this country.

This year two Anniversaries form the theme.

2012 marks 80 years since the first running of the RAC Rally, held in 1932 as a reliability trial with all types of tests including a slow driving test. In 1960 the Rally moved onto the private forest roads and grew into one of the Worlds best rallies and the biggest spectator event in Britain, when hundreds of thousands of fans stood in the forests to watch rallying household names of the 70's and 80's including Roger Clark, Hannu Mikkola, Tony Pond, Colin McRae and Richard Burns battle for the World Rally crown.

The second of the Anniversaries marks 30 years since the Event that launched Historic Rallying in this country the Lombard Golden Fifty took place in 1982 to celebrate 50 years of the RAC Rally.

Race Retro 2011 will celebrate one of Britain’s best-loved, if not THE best-loved, sports cars next year when it returns to Stoneleigh Park, Coventry in the earlier slot of 25-27 February. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type’s launch at the show will be the drivers and backroom boys who helped forge the car’s competition success.

The Heritage Motor Centre’s Club Expo event is the ideal place for club and association representatives to meet with industry experts and suppliers. A key part of the event involves sourcing new suppliers and looking at the products and services available.

This free event for suppliers is the perfect opportunity to network with hundreds of club decision makers under one roof. Clubs are always on the look out for a diverse selection of suppliers ranging from website design to specialist insurance, so take advantage of this unique opportunity and book your place today.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs will be driving the motoring themed talks this year in partnership with the Heritage Motor Centre.

MG 50th Birthday

Organised by the MGB 50 Events Committee, the Birthday Road Run on 15th April 2012 will kick start the 50th Anniversary of the MGB.

This is the perfect way to begin the celebration year: four routes will start from different locations coming together to finish at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon.

Once at Gaydon, enjoy the exhibits and facilities of the museum; admire the line up of MGs; and chat with fellow MG enthusiasts.
