The Open Road - Award Winning Classic Car Hire Company
Over the years The Open Road have been nominated for, and received a number of business awards both within the local area and specifically the tourism industry.
In 2006 we were shortlisted in two categories in the Heart of England Tourism Awards:
-
Outstanding Customer Service
-
Tourism Website of the Year
Although we didn't win either category it was being shortlisted in the Outstanding Customer Service category that prompted us to enter for the newly announced Servicemark award in 2007.
The award scheme was introduced under the Quality at Heart banner by Heart of England Tour
ism, to be awarded at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
We were the first Attraction to enter for the award scheme, going straight for the Silver which we were awarded in March 2007.
In 2008 we were nominated for the Small Business of the Year Award in the Coventry Telegraph Business Awards. We were one of four local businesses that made it through to the finals, out of over 40 entries.
In true 'Oscar' fashion we had a film crew round to put together the trailer, which only ran for be about 20 seconds (at most), but anyone that has ever been involved in filming won't be surprised that it took about 2 hours of filming to get enough footage to edit down.
We were presented with our 'Finalist' Award at the awards dinner on the evening of Wednesday 2nd July 2008 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
2009 saw us entered for two more awards:
-
Nominated for the 'Sustainable Tourism' category in the Excellence in Tourism awards run by The Heart of England.
-
The 'Thinking Outside The Box' category in the Switched-On awards, sponsored by Business Link. We were nominated and made it through to the shortlist but were pipped at the post for the award.
