Valentines weekend 1998 saw 'The Open Road' playing cupid to a happy couple from Kentucky, USA. Kyle Schroeder met his girlfriend Maggie when he moved into the house next door to her. Maggie turned up on his doorstep with a housewarming present of a cheesecake and they have been dating ever since.
In return, Kyle recently came up with a romantic recipe, that his girlfriend Maggie could not refuse. At a moments notice Kyle advised Maggie to pack a bag, as she was going to be whisked across the Atlantic to spend Valentine's weekend in England. Kyle planned his surprise in detail, selecting a blue Austin Healey (Frogeye) Sprite from The Open Road website. Kyle and Maggie made the most of their Frogeye, touring around romantic Warwickshire and the Cotswolds. However, the high point of the weekend was a stop at historic Warwick Castle.
At the top of Guys Tower Maggie was approached by knights carrying a platinum diamond ring and a charge from Sir Kyle Schroeder - a request for her hand in marriage. Kyle knelt nervously in front of her as a crowd gathered. Well it all ended happily, with such a romantic combination how could Maggie refuse.

Everybody applauded and the knights announced 'She accepts, she accepts!'.
The day was rounded off with a dramatic evening at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford to see a performance of The Merchant of Venice. When Kyle asked Maggie what her favourite part of the weekend had been she replied 'I guess I'd have to say, that little British car. We really had a great deal of fun driving the Frogeye around.' Kyle was also pleased that his choice of transport had created the desired effect. When Kyle returned to America he got in touch with The Open Road and said 'Cheers to The Open Road for such a romantic and well thought out service!'.
It goes without saying, that we would like to wish Kyle and Maggie a wonderful Wedding Day and every happiness in their future together
