Late on the Friday evening, The Open Road received a call from Charles King-Smith of Warwick Lions Club. They had been let down and the open topped car planned to transport the three young ladies in the carnival procession was no longer available. Could we help?
Fortunately our only, open top, four seater car was available and we were able to come to the rescue. So on the Saturday morning, in a light drizzle, Melissa, Leanne and Bailey, perched themselves precariously on the rear of the white Triumph Stag. Preceeded by the Warwick Girls Band and a Fire Engine they were transported at walking pace from Warwick Racecourse through the town centre to St Nicholas Park. Luckily the rain held at a slow drizzle for the whole journey as the young ladies regally waved to their adoring public. They were still relatively dry as they dismounted from their white charger in the arena to attend the prize giving.
