Choose From Our Classic Car Hire Fleets in Warwickshire and Yorkshire
The Open Road is one of longest established classic car hire companies in the UK with branches in Warwickshire and Yorkshire. We have been trading continuously under the same ownership since 1997 from our Warwick base.
Our Warwickshire hire fleet offers a range of vintage classic, sports cars: 1963 Austin Healey 3000 MkIIa, 1970 Jaguar E-type Roadster (convertible), 1961 Jaguar Mark II saloon, 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback GT, 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, 1969 MG MGB Roadster, 1973 Triumph Stag and a 1974 Triumph TR6 as well a more modern take on the classic Lotus 7 sports car - a Caterham Super 7.
Our Yorkshire hire fleet offers a mixture of classic cars and more modern classic sports cars for hire. We have a Morgan 4/4, an AC Cobra replica, a Triumph TR6 and trio of classic Morris Minors for hire: a Convertible, a Saloon and a Traveller. Our range of more modern classics includes four of the most iconic prestige sports cars from the 1990s - 2000s: Aston Martin DB7, BMW Z3 Roadster, Jaguar XK8 Convertible and a Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
When we started our classic car hire company in 1997 our plan was to hire out just classic British cars, but over the years our philosophy has changed in response to customer demand. In April 2006 we added our first non British classic to our hire fleet. Following the launch of the new Ford Mustang, which looked back to its roots, we started receiving requests for a classic Mustang. So we added that most iconic American sports car of all time - a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback to our fleet. Customer demand for more modern 'fun' sports cars lead us to add a Caterham Super 7 to our Warwickshire fleet and now we have added four more modern prestige sports cars to our Yorkshire hire fleet.
Treat yourself to an unforgettable day out or a short break in two of the most beautiful parts of the country: the beautiful Heart of Shakespeare Country, driving around Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire and The Cotswolds; the Yorkshire Dales, Bronte Country and the stunning scenery of the Derbyshire Peak District to the south and the Lake District to the north. Both locations are blessed with wonderful winding roads and rolling hills making them ideal touring country for classic and sports car enthusiasts.
Our Warwickshire base is only minutes from Historic Warwick and Stratford upon Avon and 10 minutes drive from the northern edge of The Cotswolds.. We are just 10 miles from that mecca for classic car enthusiasts, the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon and only 15 miles from the Coventry Transport Museum.
From our Yorkshire base in Keighley, you can quickly reach either the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, (via Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Dales), or Haworth and Bronte Country. There are many places to visit in the Dales, from historic castles and stately homes and gardens, to man-made attractions, spectacular waterfalls and limestone rock formations. All of them linked by beautiful driving roads.
The Open Road provides personalised classic car hire gift vouchers as well as a number of gifts or books to accompany the vouchers. Because we produce the gift vouchers individually we can make them out to say whatever our customers want. Not only do we include the recipient's name and appropriate date but you can choose the wording. So whether you want a 'Classic Jaguar Weekend', 'Classic Car Touring Holiday', or just to say 'Happy Christmas Dad', come up with your own wording and contact us. All our classic car hire gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date printed on them (not the date we supply the gift voucher).
If you think an envelope containing a voucher won't make much of a present, then why not give him/her a book on their favourite classic car, with the gift voucher inside as a bookmark. (N.B. we do not have books in stock for ALL the cars on our fleet).
You can now order our whole range of books and gifts online.
A recent article entitled The Top 10 British Classics Cars Of All Time featured four of the cars on our hire fleet - Jaguar E-Type at #2, Aston Martin DB7 at #6, Austin Healey 3000 at #8 and a Morgan at #10 (although they list the Morgan Plus 8 and ours is a Morgan 4/4).
